Loud Noise Has Me Worried

Ok the other night I was coming back home after checking out the races in Reno and I heard this weird noise after I shut off the car at the gas station then restarted it. It sounded like the infamous valve tap but that usually goes away when the car warms up. So anyway Im driving and it gets REALLY loud. But when I put the clutch in it slows down and stops but the second the RPMs go up, the tapping sound does too. This noise sounds like something hitting something else and the tap increases in speed as the RPMs climb. This problem has me really worried and any information would help. Also if some of you guys have ideas and need more specifics please post it up and Ill check it out for you. Thanks in advance and please help me!

did you check your oil level? if the oil is low or out, could be rod knock, check all your belts too.. if one of them is frayying it could be knocking on something.

Kinda sounds like rod knock to me, check your oil levels.

Yea the oil is a little low. I have a new found leak at the base of the oil filter. I wonder if its just loose or what?
