Hello everyone, I am new here, new to Mitsubishi ownership and I have a few questions to shoot at you all.

Yesterday I purchased a 94 Eclipse with a 1.8L and manual transmission from my girlfriend’s brother for $200. The engine blows blue smoke when you leave a light or when your under heavy acceleration but only after the engine has had time to warm up completely. Plus I noticed that it smoked worse when you came out of a sharp turn. Tell you the truth I took the car because I thought it was valve seals. Engine also idles rough. Well today I decided to do a compression check and leak down to confirm my thought on the seals. Here is what I got

#1 - 220 PSI
#2 - 135 PSI / 150 PSI wet tested
#3 - 145 PSI / 150 PSI wet tested
#4 - 220 PSI

When I did the leak down on #2 and #3 I got 78-80% leakdown, mostly sounding like it was coming through the oil dipstick tube. So now I am thinking more that the center two cylinders have warn rings, but I have never seen a pair go out togther like this. And shouldn't rings smoke all the time when warn?

For some reason I also did a compression test while blocking one of the center cylinders with a sparkplug and the numbers were the same. Guess I did this to rule out a 2-3 cross leak from the head gasket.

I hope I have included enough info to you all because I am stuck.

Thanks all

Chris
