This is not an emergency but here's the deal. I have been diligently tearing my 92 Laser 5 speed apart in the hopes of realizing the dream of one day having it running. Here is my latest setback.
I have to take off the head to fix damaged valves that the car created when it skipped timing. In order to do this, I have seen that I must drain fluids from the car. The jackass that owned the car before me apparently did not believe in maintenance because the oil bolt is stripped in a circle with nothing for a socket or wrench to grab. To make it even more interesting, the oil filter is literally rusted to the location it mounts to, with no hope of turning. I suck with a drill (I know I'd do more harm than good) and the gator grip sucks @$$. I know you all are pretty good at this type of thing, please share your creativity with me on how I can remedy these problems. Is my best move at this point, just to detach the oil pan and take it off, then back the screw out and replace it? Any information would help. Thanks folks.
