Last night after my 6 hour road trip and this morning driving to school my cd player has kept cutting on and off at random. mostly when i use my turning signals, and i noticed my 2nd blacklight on my passenger side dimming too. so i took it out and this morn my cd player still continues to turn off and on and random. and when i use my turning signals the check engine light (which stays on constantly cuz i have my emissions capped off) dims whenever i use them. any idea how to fix this???

Do you have any wiring vampired onto the radio supply?

My second guess is the alternator's done for.

i cant remember which fuse i have the 2 fuse taps going into. its the 15v fuse thts inbetween the 2 10v fuses in the fuse box. they're for the 2 blacklights i have. last night it wasnt doing it at all tho. but i'd still like to know whats up

Mine was doing the same, i came to find out later the stereo ground wire had been knocked loose. Check all ur connections and look behind the head unit for broke wires and make sure there is a good ground.

where would the ground wire be?

Your alenator might be working, as the car still starts, and the lights still come on. After a while, you're battery would of just died if you had left the lights on for a while. Most likely, I'd say you're grounding out somewhere and causing a power drain on your system that's enough to cause the flickering of your lights. Perhaps your altenator has a bad diod, and is causing it to put out power, but not as much as it usually does? I'd suggest just stopping by a friendly local shop and ask them to help you check your connections for grounding out, if they're cool like the ones here, they shouldn't charge you unless they have to replace something...

on my older kenwood unit, the ground is @ the top left 2ward the driver. Its a solid black wire that looked like it had broke. I only found it cause it was 1 of the few wires not connected, so i just put each 1 to some of the casing around the unit until it worked.

found it. loose power and ground on the battery. i duno how the F*K it got loose. i tightened it as tight as i could when i installed the yellow top, but my friend took a pair of plyers to the power cable and crunched it to make it tighter, it seems to hold hella better now. and no more power flickers.
