Oil coming out of exhaust stud hole?

I started my car with one missing exhaust maifold stud missing and oil came "squirting" out... does anyone know if this is caused by inserting the stud in to far deep into the head or is it some other problem??

If I remember right the 1g head has one stud's threads entering into an oil galley (I think that was the term), and thus required the stud be in place.

Why did you take it out in the first place? please dont tell me you tried to drill one out and went to far or somethin.....
