Hey guys, I am brand new to the DSM world. I bought a 1999 GST not to long ago which i should have not bought, but did and am now stuck with it.
Before you guys post search. I did search for two days.
The first problem is not a constant problem but has happened twice now since i have had the car.
I woke up in the morning to get in my car and started it. It shuddered and bogged down and stalled out twice. After i reved it a little harder it barly took off but managed to go. After it warmed up it was fine and started fine for the rest of the day and for the next 4 days. Then on the 5th day (today) i went to start it in the morning and it did the exact same thing except it started even hard(meaning it shuttered more and stalled a couple more times). But after it started the first time it was fine for the rest of the day. After searching through threads here i am thinking that it is the fuel relay. This is because It only has happene the the car sat for more then 9 hours. The first time this happened my car sat all night and into the late next morning. The second time this happened it sat two days and then when i finally started it this happend. WHat do you guys think it could be.
The last problem i think is more serious and needs to be fixed ASAP. My car makes a wheeeeeee high pitched guinea pig noise when the turbo kicks in around 3k. I think its boost leak and i'm thinking its BOV. My BOV looks identical to a 1st gen BOV but it makes NO sound what so ever and I thought the 1st gen BOV are pretty loud unless the 2g BOV's look the same as 1st gen. Is it possible for the Bov to not be functioning or broken and causing this high pitched noise or is there a leak somewhere else. Im building a leak tester tomorrow and going to try and figure it out but if anyone else has other suggestion on how to test for leaks that would be great.
Any help is appreciated and thank you for takin the time to read all that.
