Ok, I was wondering what this could be though I have my suspicions. I just removed my aircan on my n/a Talon. The previous owner removed the lower honeycomb on the MAS. Now, I'm getting more power now according to the butt dyno. However, my idle is really crappy now and the car feels like it's about to die sometimes. Also, when I'm driving at low speeds, the car lurches like it's hitting fuel cut. It only does this after it warms up. I think it's due to hot engine air getting in. Could this be anything else?

Thanks

I had the same problem when I took my can off, and ended up putting it back on!!!
I read in a post a while back that resetting the ECU 'fixes' the problem, but I cannot verify that. So - disconnect the battery for a minute [reset the ECU] and see!
The combination of NO honeycomb and NO can may be took much for the car to handle [ECU can't figure out what the hell the air quality is].
I don't have much experience with that part of my engine, so take what I write with a grain of salt!!! [That means - don't necessarily believe me!!!]
GOOD LUCK!!

Well, I wondered if some of my issues were related to air getting in the gaps on the air filter. So, I hacked the aircan leaving the lip and one bolt hole intact. Nearly lost a thumb to the hacksaw. :) I put the aircan on and put the clips down over the lip. This helped to secure the filter. It solved my problem. I still have a little miss at idle, but I had that before which is probably the result of the previous owner removing the lower honeycomb and the hot engine air. I'm going to make a dam around the aircan using carboard and heat insulation to see if can reduce my intake temps and nail that minor miss at idle. I cured the jerkiness though.

The little miss at idle went away when I replaced the intake with a hard pipe. The clamps I used to secure the pipe to the TB and airbox are pretty robust. I must've had a small leak. The car purrs like a kitten right now.

I took off the lower honeycomb, the star-like piece of metal and linen in the intake and the air canister, to switch to a k&n filter, my rpm used to be a 1k on neutral, but now its at 500 rpm and when im accelerating at low speed, it almost cuts. Well, i dont think my intake is leaking or anything, so changing it would be useless for my problem. Did i do something wrong or will i have to be precausious with those free mods posted by Ludachris???

Some folks can't run with the lower honeycomb removed and some can. You might want to put your lower honeycomb back. Before that check your BISS screw. Turn it all the way in and the turn it back out about a turn and a half. Start the car and check the idle. You should be idling at 750 rpms +/- 50. If not, then turn the screw in to reduce the idle and turn it out to increase your idle. If you start getting idle surges, then you might have a vaccum leak or a bad ISC.

I hope this helps.
