I popped a CEL a while ago, around the same time as I replaced my battery (popped before I replaced my battery). I drove around a bit, and didn't notice anything wrong, so I cleared it without checking what it was. Replaced the battery, and a couple days later (today), the CEL comes back. I scan it, and it comes out p1494, something to do with an emission problem or leak. Any suspect places I should be looking for problems? Or should I just bring it to a garage and have them find it for me?

K well I just did a search, and it confirms what the person who did the scan for me said. He wasn't sure exactly what it was, but he knew that it was a pretty insignificant emissions problem that just might make my car run a little funny.

My exhaust has increased in volume a bit, other than that, and the car seeming to be a little bit faster on the top of first/bottom of second gear, I haven't noticed anything (prolly just my mind playing tricks on me).

I'm picky though and don't want to drive around with a CEL, so how can I permanently get rid of it? How much $$ we talking ?

Well I brought it to a dealer, and they are charging me $388 to fix this thing. That is SOME BULLSHIT.
