how will your car run if your timing is off on the balance shaft? will it mess up the motor? its off a tooth or two. will my car idle funny or not pull?? is that why my car is running funny???? or was running funny....not running now.....on jackstands:(

Most cars with mistimed balance shafts will vibrate, or shake, due to the imbalance caused by the balance shafts being out of phase with the rest of the engine.

I would also check to make sure the oil pump is not 180 degrees out.

Regards,

if it is already on jackstands, I would just remove the balance shafts while I was checking the oil pump, then you don't have to worry about the timing being off.
