When the tack jumps like this the car dies and it goes to 0 rpms and stays idle like that then dies sometimes..So how can a mechanical device such as a tach or cluster shut the car off? if that's all your saying is wrong?:hmm::confused::nono:
 
It seems like you have a bad ground, Check your batter posts and make sure your battery is good.
 
I have seen this happen on older chevs when the EGR valve was not workin correctly was shooting exhaust into the intake and killing the engine then the engine was over compensanting for the exhaust possible the EGR is stickin?
