So I pulled my battery out the other day to change my fuel filter, which was a PITA. Anyways i hooked the battery and my voltage stabilizer back up correctly as it was. Got in the car and started in up and the anti lock light came on. Anti lock light never was on before doing this. I've already checked the fluid level and fuses, all good. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what it could be?

I had this happen to me recently. I don't know how to explain why the ABS light comes on, but mine was because of a bad connection from the battery. I cleaned the posts and cleaned/reseated all of the wires that connect to each terminal and voila, it was fixed. It was easy for me to tell that it was a bad connection because the positive post/terminal would get blazing hot in a matter of seconds of having the car running, and it should be no warmer than the ambient air around it. Give that a try, plus it can't hurt to clean up the connections.

I see what you're saying. Aren't there some kind of sensors also. I did however just clean the battery post and that did nothing. I'll check them connections as soon as i get off work.

Check to see if the ABS ECU is plugged in also. If I'm not mistaken, it should be under the carpet of the floorboard on the passenger side... under the dash...

wow this may be a coincidence, but the exact same thing is happening to me right now. I changed a dead battery the other day and now the anti-lock brake light is on. (95' Talon NT FWD stock everything)

I don't know if this will help you but I've check the ABS ECU code, from a suggestion in another anti lock light thread in this forum. Mine is 53 which is pump-motor. Unfortunately, I don't know where that is to check if its alive or not.

Can anyone help me out as well with the pump-motor diagnosis?

Well I checked the ABS ECU and everything is plugged up right. I also filled up the fluid bottle to the MAX. I'm going to wash my car today and check the wheel sensors. I think it's one of those because when I start the car, the light isn't on. Then as soon as I get about 10 feet it comes on. AHHHHH! I really hate them damn glowing yellow lights on the cluster.

2g ABS codes: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...-reading-2g-abs-diagnostic-trouble-codes.html.

The pump-motor is the ABS hydraulic unit - just follow the brakes lines from brake master cylinder to find it.

Thanks! :)

That link was where I originally found that it was the pump motor. I found a metal box with some slim metal hoses coming out of it that I think is the ABS hydraulic unit. However; I'm in a different world of hurt now, with a significant coolant leak that I have to fix first. Time to search for those topics in the forum.
