extremely sluggish & rpms are off

1997 Eclipse GSX, 550's, 16g, safc

Alright, so I'm pulling out of work (slowly), and at the next light, my rpms are down near 200-ish, the car is still running and idling, I'm giving it blips but eventually I let it idle to see if it tries to cut off and it stays on. As I leave the light, the car is EXTREMELY sluggish, I can still hear the turbo and it sounds healthy, there is no smoke exhaust, just sluggish accel.

Now here is the part that boggled my mind.

@ 50 MPH in 4th gear, I was at 1400 RPM. This is impossible. Which has me hoping its a sensor of some sort and not some bigger problem.

Does anyone have any clue as to what this may be?

If there are no check engine lights indicating a mis fire my next step would be to check for major boost leaks.

First try treating this as an idle surge/low idle problem. Check IAC, TPS and BISS via VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions

it turned out to be a major boost leak

you arent understanding my problem. My car idled low as hell suddenly, and the RPMs were completely off.

1400 rpm at 50 mph in 4th gear is NOT right.

i understand that but the ISC can causes it to go both ways
sorry i sound a bit dumb but thats what my mechanic said
