I'm having a problem with my starter circuit from my 96' Eclipse GS-T. The car won't start unless I bypass the starter relay. I've tested everything in the circuit and narrowed it down to the clutch pedal position switch not having ground, the switch itself tested fine.

My question is; where is the clutch pedal position switch grounded? The wire looks like it's going into the driver door but I'm not for certain. I really don't want to tear apart the whole interior to trace the wire. I juist finished swapping in a new motor so I must have missed it somewhere. Thanks for any help!

Update on my situation:

Here is the entire circuit according to my Haynes manual and what I've tested.

Ignition switch to starter relay test - Good
Starter Relay - ???Unknown???
Starter Relay to Starter - Good
[If I bypass the relay, I can start the car]
Starter Relay to Clutch Pedal Position Switch - Good
Clutch Pedal Position switch - Good
Clutch Pedal Position switch to Ground - Good

I was mistaken, the clutch pedal position sensor does have ground.

I tested the sensor, it's good. I did a continutity test between the sensor prongs and continutity is only present when the switch lever is released. When I press in the switch, continuity is lost.

When the relay is installed and I try to start the car; the starter relay clicks and breaks the connection. I tested it and it seems to be good. I can't figure out why the relay is clicking, if I jumper between pin 3 and 4, I can start the car. The only thing I can think of is that the wiring diagram I'm looking at is missing information. Somehow the starter relay is getting ground and closing my connection to the starter.

I'm ####ing stumped. =(
