Possible Turbo Probs?

Okay, first off hello to everyone, second here's the prob.

Just bought a 95 gsx auto off a guy around here for 1800, thats the good, here's the bad, the day i bought it he tells me his buddy did an oil chang and accidentally over fills it a little. When I was driving it home, white smoke started coming out the exaust on acceleration, deceleration and stopped. My buddy says it's most likely the turbo seals, i.e. we removed the intake pipe and found oil in the intake, downpipe, ect, did't really dig into the turbo, personnally I don't know much about them. I researched here and found some guys with similar probs so I ordered a turbo rebuild kit, be here in three days.


What do you guys think and does anyone have intructions or possibly a tut for rebuilding?

What i would do is take all the oil out and place the appropriate amount on there. or just dump the excess amount. the white smoke you are talking about would be because of the abundant amount of oil in the crankcase. I have had this problem in a Pontiac firebird once and it was because i place a quart to much!

If that doesnt solve your problem then maybe your turbo has a problem like you stated.

Well I tried that, its still smoking. I took it to get a pressure test ( to look for a coolant leak ) and it kinda made it worse for a second. Ill just put some new seals on it, possibly rebuiild cause it's winding now.

You dont have the machine to measure tolerances on the specific mechanical parts of a turbo.

I was told by 4 different machanics, and my scence of smell, that I'm burning oil, not coolant. I had a civic that burnt coolant and it smelled and looked different. And I found this which might be useful.
