Hey guys, im havng some weird problems with my car and its starting to drive me crazy. So i get the new turbo on and take it to the exhaust shop, runs great and when i shut it off there it wont start. I can hear the fuel pump running so i check for spark, has spark too. So i assumed the injectors werent firing. Let the car cool down and it fires up and runs good. 2 days later i drive it to work shut it off and go to start it at lunch, NO START. This time i had a noide light to check injector pulse and there isnt any, the weird thing is this time when i would turn the key on the main relay would cycle on and off realy fast turning the fuel pump on and off and the engine light, also the tach was bouncing up and down.

I pulled the relay and cleaned the contacts and let it cool down, this time the relay clicks on as usual and the fuel pump runs but no start.
I throw in a USED relay and worked fine for about a week and then today no start again, only when HOT though. This time the fuel pump would run and the check engine light would come on but no fire.
I turned the key on and off a few times then the pump would stop all together and then the stock boost gauge wouldnt center BUT the check engine light would still come on. GRRRRRRRR,
i waited 5 mins or so and then it fired up again, so here i am. I NEED HELP from a wiseman. Does it sound like the ECM is bad?? I pulled it and the caps look good.

STEVE what can i do??

Yet another typical "professional" rebuild. I wouldn't let whoever it was work on my garbage compactor. Very possible that the ECU is the cause.

The red wire is to fix the damaged ISC trace that runs under C106 by the white edge connector.

Quickest way to diagnose is let a friend try and run your ECU. If your 100% sure that your ISC is good you can try their ECU on your car. If you can't talk to your ECU with your logger that's also a good sign that the ECU isn't running.

You sure you had the right code in your ostrich? This is more like what the ECU will do when it has a bad image loaded and it's executing junk.

im having the same problem with mine also except it is a non turbo...so if you find out the problem please let me know

I havent uploaded any tunes latley, do you think it could go bad over time or would it have to be bad from the get go.??
I am realy pulling my hair out on this thing, i don't know what to do since it is so intermittent, and by the time i get to the ecu to check it the car will start again.
I am going to eliminate the ostrich completely and just burn a chip for now and see what happens. Let me know if there is anything else that may be causing this, i am willing to start throwing parts at it.

Also there are no other talons around to swap ecu's with so i am kinda hooped there.

The ostrich should hold the bits for years. It's not my first guess but I wanted to check since a bad image will cause one of the problem you described.

My money is on the ECU based on how often it is the cause of these symptoms and the generally poor shape of the rework to yours. I wouldn't throw any more parts at it untill you know the ECU isn't the source of your pain.

Hey, well i think i have gotten some headway tonight. I uploaded a complete new tune and started the car, ran good. Shut it off for 10 mins and no go again. This time i checked what was happening with the boost gauge and check engine light.
The check engine light comes on and stays on and wont shut off and the boost gauge wont center at all. So i have a buddy with a ostrich and we tryed that, no go. I have a none eprom ecu to just plug in and try, BINGO everything works. Just to be sure that it wasnt a fluke i swapped the eprom back in and no start, non eprom back in and start. YAAAAYY

I dont care that i need a new ecu, i am just happy to know what the problem is. thanx
