New Greddy RS won't stop fluttering, weird gurgle from intake?

Ok so I just bought my second dsm and performed some simple bolt on mods:

Hard Upper/Lower IC piping
Hard Intake pipe
K&N filtercharger intake
Greddy Type RS BOV

I cannot seem to get the BOV to stop fluttering at any setting, softest all the way to hardest. The sound and length of the flutter will vary depending on the setting, but I cannot get a single WHOOSH to save my life. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

In addition, when I am driving the car and go from coasting to accelerating, the first moment after hitting the gs and increasing rpm's (maybe 1-200 rpms) there is a strange knocking/gurgling sound. The sound also reappears for the same stretch rpms when the car is going back is going back down from accelerating right before it goes back to coasting. I cannot get it to make this noise while revving at idle, however.

It doesn't sound like slight bov fluttering which i have experienced before on my old dsm at slight boost release. My only explanation is it sounds like the intake is somehow gurgling. My old filtercharger used to make a sort of suction noise when it would first pull, but i never had a straight hard pipe to the turbo like i do now. I dunno, really i'm just confused. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!

If I had a boost leak, would there not be other more significant signs? The car idles fine, boosts and accelerates fine (I think). But either way I thought a boost leak would create an erratic idle no matter what??

In some cases yes but we own dsm's theres always an exception..plus it doesnt hurt to do one every now and then

i would boost leak test anyway...1) its free 2) its pretty easy. maybe the bov itself is leaking at some point while boosting 1 or 2 psi then seals up w/more boost? ive heard funny things about the leaking adjuster screw.

Ok. I shall do a boost leak test. Simply because after all that piping exchange it would be a good call to do one even though i don't see symptoms of it. Let me ask a again though, does a boost leak have anything to do with BOV fluttering, or is that simply the BOV itself?

Hey there. I'm assuming you're recirculating your bov, correct? I have the same setup and I'll admit that it does have that slight flutter at a low rev and shift [like an HKS on a Supra =D], but I can still manage to get the whipping whoosh sound from higher revs. From what I've read, the increased flutter noise is coming from the recirculated pressure bouncing off of the hard intake pipe. You have to remember that with the stock POS turbo intake pipe, the bov's dump tube is extended and directs the air deeper within. My only suggestion aside from what the others have said is to use teflon tape on the adjustment screw and the vacuum nipple. Good luck!

PS: The worst case scenario is that the bov took a crap on you. If you run a search, there are explanations on how to check the diaphragm.

Alright so I teflon taped the adjuster screw on the BOV and it's almost as if it made that knocking gurgle sound thing more noticeable. I'm 100% convinced that the BOV is where it is coming from. So now i know that it is making a strange knocking flutter at low PSI and then a loud normal flutter at full boost release. I'm almost convinced the BOV has something wrong with it. I hear the RS is a better BOV that the old type S, but I also keep hearing how so many people are having problems with them mechanically as well. I'm going to look into taking it apart and update as soon as I can with what I find. Any links to such an instructional post would be appreciated. thanks guys!
