can believe i did this, bleach discolored my head.

I was working of my head for about 6 hours today, and I decided to try to get the oil out of the top of it. so I threw bleach on the top, then the bleach ran down the head and on to the shaved surface. The head has already been decked and I am almost done porting and polishing it. Anyway, the decked area is discolored and I cant get the color out, I tried acetone and carb cleaner. Should it be ok to clean it up and put it on and run it? Im never doing this again.

For a pic? As long as you did not mix chemicals together to make a acid that eats metal you should be fine but check the deck surface.

here are a few pics. the bleach didnt mess up normal shaving/cut/deck marks, it just stained it. You can tell it still glares.

bleach corrodes metal pretty quickly so be carefull...

oh. thanks for the heads up. idk. I will just have to leave the head the way it is i guess. I can't think of anyways to get rid of the stains. I guess it doesnt matter how it looks anyway, it about how it performs.
