Ok i need some help i tried to search this problem before posting but... i came up with nothing! I have a 93 talon with a 5 speed its bone stock well the problem is after driving it for a few minutes it begins to spit and sputter then i here a clicking sound from under the dash and the car stalls when i try to restart it, it will turn over but wont start back up.... im getting fuel and spark but still wont start......but when i put a fresh battery in the car it will fire right up and run good for a few minutes and then does the same thing again....this problem has me stumped any ideas?

I would check out the alternator. Sound like it is not keeping up with outout needs of the engine. This would explain why the new battery would run the car for a few minutes then die out. Also, while you are looking, check to make sure the battery terminals are tight and all the ground wires around the battery are tight and intact

It would take more then a couple of min to run a battery down.. My buddy drove for a 45 min hwy run on a bad alternator after that he need to recharge it. While its running pull the terminal off the positive side of the battery that will tell you if the alternator is generating any power..

I have tested the alternator and its not that its testing 14.4v on the battery...

i have checked the fuse and thats not the problem either.... Its really got me stumped!

Thanks for the help guy's but could i just put a new ecu in it......i have a spare one lying around?
