Okay, first my lights dim which I posted in another thread, but now this. This has been happening ever since I bought the car back in November but now its to the point where im worrying. Okay, compression is 150, 150, 150, 150. That was 2 months ago when I changed the oil. No vacuum leaks that I am aware of but I could be wrong. But here is the problem:

When I start the car, it jumps to 1,5k and then slowing drops down to .7k as it warms up. Every couple times I start it, it will start at .3/.4k and then jump up and come back down. Whenever I rev it up in park or neutral it will drop quickly down to .3/.4k and almost die but recovers. Sometimes it will die. When I was pulling out of my gf's neighborhood tonight it died on me, first time it happend while driving. Now, I know my lights dim when im at idle and that is an altenator issue. I am testing that tomorrow. Could the altenator also be affecting my idle? My Greddy RS is currently venting into the air but will be recirculated once I get the intake pipe on. Hope this information helps so I could get some input on fixing my problem. Thanks!!!

Car is about to hit 74k. Carfax says its last maintence was at 58k. I bought it with 69k. Previous owner says timing belt was changed at 60k but not the water pump. I checked the belts and they look new so. :(

Sounds like a recirc problem to me. Are you running a stock or after market turbo? As for the lights dimming I think you are right on getting the alternator checked.

It's stock. I just bought/ordered almost every mod I can do to the T-25 which im going to leave on there. It's my DD and im more of a audio/nice exterior/interior person but still would like a quick car. Thanks for the responses.

I would look at the Idle air controller. And possibly adjust the base idle screw. I am guessing that a 2g has this too. I just know from working on 1g

yes .. or try removing (under the TB you will see a socket thats has 7 or 6 wire conecting to the servo .) the socket .. again .. put the key to on ,then remove socket, then start .. if if the idle will not go up and down .. you might have 'servo' problems .(i dont know you how you guys call it here ,but to us we call it servo ) try removing the ecu then back again .. after starting the car dont do anything . just let the temp to go to normal .. then one by one turn on the accsories of the car (head light,a/c,radio,hazard ) :thumb: or clean the TB .. :sneaky:
