If youre talking about the tensioner with the eccentric in in, dont put a washer behind it. Dont you notice that lip on the badside of the tensioner? That will eat up your timing belt if you put that washer behind it and space it out.

You need to put the belt on, then pull the pin on the tensioner, then torque the tensioner down. Youll notice with the tensioner in the correct place, it doesnt cause any problems
