Hey guys how are you doing? Before anything, merry Xmas to all you DSMers.

to the problem now.

A while back, like three months ago i bought a AFPR from ebay

turns out this blue preetty thing came with a pierced gasket. therefore passing gas into my intake mani.

So what i did was, Got another AFPR but this time it didnt have a gauge.
I was curious about where my fuel pressure was sitting, so I took the gauge from the first AFPR i got and put it in the fuel line right before the AFPR. like so.....

The problem is that the needle doesnt go past 20 psi (even with the screw all the weay in) which worries me.
In the tank i have a walbro 255 HP.

Questions
-Can this be caused by the position of the gauge?
-Can it be the fuel pump? as far as i know either they work or they dont.
-What can i do to troubleshoot this and find the problem.
-Maybe a dirty fuel filter?

Thanx in advance.

And now, a lil eye candy(as a Xmas present):sneaky:

It looks like you have your gauge plumbed into your return line, which is definitely going to have low pressure because there is a restriction right before it. What you're actually measuring is the pressure that's being bled off by the regulator as opposed to the pressure it's creating. :D

You want to measure BEFORE the pressure regulator, either at the fuel filter or in the extra AFPR ports (if any).

Yep, he is right. You plumbed in to the return line. You can put the gauge on the AFPR or the supply. BTW, if that is a B&M Command Flo AFPR keep an eye on it. I have never seen any DSM have luck running one.

Did you ever actually use the ebay fuel pressure regulator? I was curious how well/crappy they work.

Brian

I did actually, it worked great for about two minutes, then my car shut off. intake mani full of gas via vaccum line.
:D what ever it was only $20.00 shipped. I see it as a lesson and or a $20.00 gauge.
