Well anyways, to sum it up, On this dsmtuners thread http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt...#post151336271
it was about cold air intake set ups.
Well i posted mines right after I did it. Car ran fine right after I did my cai.
Drove it to work the next day and I went to hit it in 2nd then suddenly it started breaking up real bad and not wanting to accelerate ...Felt like I hit fuel cut or something but i dont have fuel cut in my modified ecu so... I started thinking that maybe something got fudged with the mass air senser when i took it off for the cold air intake project.
I examined everything under my hood for a good while, everything looked normal, and I really didnt touch anything during the install. The wires and harness plugs on the mass were visually ok.
Its almost like the cars not getting fuel all of sudden when i go to get on it. Why? If i dont give it more than like 40% throttle the car will drive normal without any issues. its when i see boost start coming on that I see it start messing up. I even tried to reset the ecu and that didnt help either. Im going to undo the cai mod tommorow when I get off of work even though I dont see why that would matter so much...
Nothing got sucked up, turbo is fine, motor is fine, nothing fell off or came loose as far as the cold air intake. its something electrical that has to do with the operation of the air/ fuel or spark. That much is for sure....
Im leaning towards something messed up with the mas/ or tps plug or something of that nature. I recall the original owner saying he had problems with the tps plug causing this car to not accelerate and thats why my tps is all ziptied and stuff... I was able to limp the car to work under 3.5 rpms today, but everytime i stopped; the idle would start hunting up and down...
Now this is the first time in 7 months that i had any issues with this car and the first time with this current issue. I normally try to figure out stuff myself, but im pretty stumped so anyone can send me in the right direction?
Things im coming up with that could be causing this-
mas sensor messed up, or somehow getting distorted readings?
somewhere in fuel system clogged, or pump picked up crap at the bottom of the tank from me always running on E? / maybe bad fuel pump?
or ecu not working right, or something wrong w/ my chip ( been chip tuned for 3yrs.)
or i need to replace the tps all together....
Any thoughts??? Is there any other sensor I need to check that could be a possible cause? I would just go thru the process of elimination and just replace anything relevant but since im a poor college student I dont have enough cash to do that and i def need to fix this very soon...
