92 laser awd not running right.

Like the title says i have 92 laser awd turbo and my problem im having is when i try starting the car when cold it takes 2-3 cranks for it to fire and the check engine light is on. other than that it runs great and will start good after its warm. It just started doing this after a put a brandnew head on it because on my old head i burnt up a valve. Could it be my timings not adjusted right or is it just some damn sensor?

It could be a number of things. Start by buying or borrowing a logger from a local guy and seeing what the issue is.

the thing is im broke and don't know anyone with one hear in town, theres not many dsm's, so if any one has any ideas or suggestions that would help out alot. thanks
