Totally new to this so forgive me if this is a dumb question. I have a 94 eagle talon turbo
fwd 5 spd. Motor was blown so I bought a used motor from a local yard out of a 93 mitsu
eclipse. All went fine until I got to the flywheel. The Talon flywheel will not bolt on to the Eclipse crank. Do I need the flywheel off of the Eclipse?

Did the Eclipse have an automatic transmission?

What do you mean by not fitting?
Is there a different number of bolts from one crank to the other?

Unless the eclipse was a non-turbo or something weird it should fit just fine. We really need some info as to "why" it won't fit. Maybe some info on the two cars would help. Is yours awd or fwd? What about the Eclipse?

If the motor came from a car with an auto trans there is a ring in the center of the crank that needs to be removed. If one of the motors is 6 bolt and one is 7 bolt the flywheel will not be interchangeable either. If the motor is from a Talon / Eclipse or AWD/FWD shouldnt matter. 6 bolt/7 bolt or AT/MT dose matter.

How do you remove that ring? I've been struggling with this for about 4 hours. I've been converting my 96 gst with f4a33 to a manual. everything else was easy, now I'm down to the flywheel not bolting on because of that ring..
