Ok, I just bought my GSX about two weeks ago and it had an idle problem and I fixed that:thumb: , but now after heavy rains when i press the throttle the car hesitates surges and the dies:cry: , I have to pump the throttle to keep it from dying however as long as the throttle is not pressed... My repair manual says this could be due to water in my gas... What do you guys think?

Also if this helps throttle cable is loose and seems to be missing 1 of the two bolts I am going to replace the bolt but how tight do I tighten it sorry right before work so I don't have time to search or look in my repair manual.

I would think it would be something more like a wet maf or cas rather than water in your gas, unless you have a good idea as to how the water got in your gas. Do you have a CEL?

There is no CEL and the MAF was inside the garage getting fitted for a bracket at the time of the storms. Hmmm. were going to bleed the tank tomorrow anyway to get the old gas out... I have no idea of how water could have gotten in the gas though... Anyway, thank you.

I feel your pain of the rain, I live 10 miles from Ft Dodge... this week was rough.

If you got the car so soon, I would boost leak check it. Also check the plugs. It may not have anything to do with the rain, maybe just a coincidence. Do you park the car outside?

Don't be sure the symptoms are related to the rain- they may only be coincidental. How old are the plugs and wires? Has the rest of the car been fully checked-out? Have you checked for stored CELs?

I laugh at my inability to see that my father, who had looked at the car a few hours before me, had disconnected the bright blue hose from the BOV to just after the MAF, today it took thirty seconds to realize hey that should go here AHA. car runs fine now. I also changed the oil and got the stereo working with some good friends... I'm glad we have a pit in the garage. This week has been horrible for rain. Today was pretty good though. off topic but I have a palm that came with the car can anyone recommend a good pocketlogger software.

sorry for the double post but in response to defiant the car is going to be fully checked by my mechanic as soon as he rebuilds the motor on a truck. He wont schedule anyone until that truck is done so it could be at least a week. Also within the next week I am going to scan the codes and see if anything's up on that end of things.
