When my gas pedal is to the floor, my turbo will boost up, and no more, than 17 psi. When this happens the boost cuts out, just like when you hit the rev limiter. It is my understanding that the stock turbo can only boost up to 16 psi, and the pump can only handle 16 psi, so none of this makes any sence to me. If i keep it under 17 psi it will not cut out at all. I purchased this 2g eclipse in may with a cat back, intake, hks bov, intercooler piping, turbo timer, and apex-i boost controller, and i am in the process of installing a downpipe. Could the boost be set too high?? Or is this some other problem?

Yes your boost is set to high.

So you my friend let me welcome you to owning a dsm. What your are experiencing the all infamous fuel cut. Kinda like a rev limiter, but it just cuts fuel out so you dont knock your engine all the way to its grave.

Id say turn it down the 13-14psi unitill your get supporting mods ot run that much boost...

Do a boost leak test. Fix your leaks. Check your plugs and wires. What kind of plugs are you using? Do another boost leak test. Fix the leaks you missed the first time around. Turn your boost down until you get a fuel pump and/or injectors. Check your turbo for shaft play, just in case.

Report back the results of all of the above.

The t-25 can boost up to 25psi without a problem, but by then it's out of it's efficiency range and blowing hot air.

At 17 psi, the t-25 is just about done and a bit more than a stock fuel system can handle. You should be shooting for around the 15psi range with stock fuel system.

With that said, you still should not be hittig fuel cut at 17psi. The only time I've hit fuel cut is at 25 psi (accident... story for another day). Since you ARE, this means that your MAF is seeing alot more air (MAF is right at the intake) than your motor is getting (what your boost guage reads, since it is most likely off the manifold) and your ECU thinks that you are running too much boost for the injectors can handle and is cutting off fuel to save your motor.

The most obvious fix is like Eric (MrBoxx) says. Boost leak tests should be done regularly, more than oil changes.
