Omg Help!!! Smoke!!!

i dont know what it is, but my engine overheaded this thing....its attached to the passenger strut thing....the thing that the struts go inside. It says Mitsubishi Electric MFG or maybe electronic MFG, its a cord, some kind of braded line, that goes from the firewall (box attached to the firewall) to that passenger strut bar....what is it, cause its broke now and i dont know what it is...help me?

my car is a 1995 Talon TSI

Went and looked at his car today, it turned out it was his cruise control unit. Some of the wires melted somehow.
