Hey guys my engine (4g63 7 bolt) just started making 'clicking' noises. Sounds like its coming from the top of the valve cover and around the intake manifold area. Sounds like metal clicking kind of but very noticeable, im trying to get a video of it asap. Only happens when its fired up cold but goes away when i rev past 2500rpms. Also, it doesn't happen all the time, just when it wants to. Isn't rod knock consistent and does not go away no matter what rpms? Could this be my lifters??

Also, my car takes a few cranks (when sitting overnight) before it actually starts up and idles at 2300 for about 5 minutes then sits good at 900rpms. I think its because of my bad coolant temp sensor. Would this have anything to do with it? Thanks in advance! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thats definitly lifter tick. Make sure your oil level is full. If its still there, turn up the music.
Or get some 3G lifters.

Ive got the same problem. I know that I have a lifter tick but I didnt think that anyones car did it until it was warm.
