Ok first of all i tried searching and did not find the answer to my problem.
here it is i got a 97gst me and my friends were doing some pulls and in one of those times my dip stick pop out and also my oil pressure gauge stopped working.
it only goes up as it would when it would just be at idle so i'm not sure if it's my oil pump or just the oil sensor i did start up the car a couple of days later and was in the look out for my lifters ticking but everithing seems fine and after turning the car off i opened the oil cap and it seem like theres oil flowing...
any help on this will be appreciated:dsm:

that's what i was thinking that maybe it just came loose but everthing is in place ..
and like i said before the gause only goes up as it would when is at idle
Also i was thinking if the pressure sendig unit goes bad then the gause should't work at all

Did you try cleaning it off with some electronic spray? Because I had the exact same prob with my 1g it was connected but was corroded with oil and grime. It registered like I was at idle at all times so I cleaned up all the connections with electronic spray and it started reading again. If worse comes to worse you could buy an oil pressure gage that is accurate like this one from prosport that replaces the sending unit for like 38 bucks. That’s what I did.

Ok i tried cleaning the connectors but still not working i'm gona try the aftermarket gauge and see if that solves my problem..
thanks for the help

Well you said that the oil pump is still getting the oil to the top of the head right. I would just be careful till you are able to verify that the engine is getting the correct oil pressure. But my guess is that it is the oil pressure sending unit.

yes that is correct i've been keeping an eye on that is there any way i can chek the oil pump??
besides buying an aftermarket gauge to see if theres pressure?

Instead of getting the oil pressure gage. Why don’t you just run to your local parts store and see if they have the oil pressure sending unit in stock. And swap it out. then go from there.

Check the wire connection to the oil sending unit off the oil filter housing might be corroded or has became disconnected. The dipstick popping out just sounds like the seal for the dipstick is old.

The dipstick popping out is a commong DSM problem Having to do with Excess crank case pressure and blow-by

Ok i got the engine light today while comming home so i whent to auto zone and they say it could be a bad O2 sensor or blow by
and he told me blow bly is when oil get's on the O2 sensor is that correct?
and why would oil be on my exhaust?
and i will try to find a new oil presure sending unit to see if that solves my oil gauge problem..

Blow-by is where the pressure building up inside the cylinders escapes past the piston rings and pressurizes the crank case (and head) . . . blowing oil out of the Valve Cover vent and/or PCV valve.

As for the oil pressure- see if you can rent a mechanical oil pressure gauge from Autozone or some other auto store and get that checked out. If you're running with little oil pressure, you're just asking for trouble.

Take a pair of plires and pinch the dipstick tube just a little to make dipstick a little more snug that will solve your problem with the dipstick poping out.:thumb:
No, that would be the worst thing you can do, it would be like disabling your boost gauge because you're over boosting. The problem here is excessive crankcase pressure, the mission is to find out why. Here are the possible causes,

1. Excessive blowby, compression test, both dry and wet tests.

2. Boost pressure leaking into the crankcase, perform a boost leak test from the TB elbow, listen for leaks under the oil cap, components in play here are pcv valve and intake valve seals.

3. A compromised crankcase ventilation system, make sure your breather is properly routed back into the intake pipe.

With all that said, this can also be as simple as a worn out dipstick which should be easily verifiable.
