ok so along with my last thread i have now checked timing i am what looks like 1/2 a tooth off on the exhaust cam shaft is this possible is it ok how can i adjust for 1/2 tooth seems to be inpossible thanks

You probably aren't checking it accurately. Hold a straight edge from the center of 1 cam shaft to the center of the other and see where all the timing marks on both sides of both line up with it.

Yeah, you really can't be 1/2 tooth off . . . I had a similar issue on my most recent build with adjustable cams. Did some research and it turns out that when you're lining up the timing marks . . . use a straight edge lined up at the crease between the top of the head and the valve cover gasket and the marks on the cam gears toward the inside should line up (not both the inside and outside).

When it's in time, with the intake cam dowel pointing straight up, the exhaust cam will be slightly clockwise from straight up. About half a tooth sounds right.
