I have a 93 Talon turbo awd 5spd with 56k on the clock. It is bone stock with the exception of a Dejon intake and K&N filter (don't worry, the BOV is returned to the intake). Before the boost gauge went in, I was getting about 22 mpg city which is roughly 260 miles to the tank. After I put in the boost gauge, I'm getting only about 210 miles to the tank. I tapped the boost gauge into the black hose with a blue stripe coming off of the fuel pressure regulator. Is my boost gauge causing my drop in mpg? Has anyone else noticed that after a boost gauge install their mpg decreased? Any and all help is appreciated.

Thank You for the Help,
Eric

I have never heard of that happening before. My only idea would be that in the places you have cut and put tee's in you have a leak at. How is your vacuum at idle and what is your boost your running at? Make sure there are no cracks in your lines and make sure to always use zip ties on all of your ends. Trust me on that one.

Hope that helps.

I haven't had a chance to go back and inspect everything yet- I plan to do that tomorrow. I did put a zip tie around every connection. I tapped the fuel pressure regulator and one thing that I forgot to mention is that under boost I can smell gas fumes inside of my car. I wonder if that sheds any light. I'm gonna go back and check all of my lines and hopefully I can find something.

Thank You for Your Help,
Eric

hrmm.. sounds to me like you have tapped the wrong hose. Try tapping the lower line on the fuel pressure solenoid (solid black hose), that should fix the problem. I just installed a boost gauge on my talon and it works great.
