yeah, looks pretty toasted to me. mostly on the last picture too where you can see black... looks like something actually burnt. A lot of times that stuff can leak a little and be ok, but if it actually starts burning through traces on the board, you're boned.... it can probably be repaired but not by just anyone, you will need a specialist.

Maybe try to clean it with rubbing alcohol or acetone and a Qtip to see the extent of the damage. It may just need new caps.

The diode is the thing right beside the ic110 with the black case thats broken off. I didnt see that the first time I looked at it.If Steve says you got problems I'd hit up ebay or the classifieds here.

hahaha oh, now I see, half of the case is laying on the board, yeah, I maybe wouldn't throw it away... I've done a lot of thinking and there will be a day when you won't be able to get an ecu for the ol beater dsm anymore and it will present an issue in which people will need to repair them. I'm sure that one can be fixed.... but it will take an electronics technician.

what caused this? or the ECU caps went bad and did this. When I get a new one and plug it in will id burn out again? how should I check it to be sure it wont brun it when I plug it in? thx
