Hi, recently I just installed a stage 3 Clutch and a 11 lb flywheel.
I got the car running today, went for a drive for a few hours. In those few hours the car has that surging idle and when im driving it, the RPM gauges goes up and down like the idle surge. Also it mis fires a bit. Then a hour ago, driving home, the car throughs a CEL and wants to die, it hesitates and sounds like the turbo just fell and it is running open header. I start the car again and drive it for 1 minute trieng to go home, then it does it again. I start it again and it drives fine home. Now I look on the bottom of the motor, it looks like it had an oil leak, and there wasnt much oil.

Long story short: Car Hesitates, Mis Fires, Stalls, Idle Surges during idle and when im driving and there seems to have an Oil leak on the oil return line. Please help if you can. Ill try to be more descriptive. Thanks

Did you make sure to connect all the electrical connections you removed when installing the clutch /flywheel (MAF, TPS, IAC, cooling fan(s)..etc). Do you have a means to check the CEL that you saw?

Where exactly is the oil leak eminating from? Was it there prior?

Definitely check the turbo wheel for excessive lateral /longitudal freeplay (remove intake). If it does and or if there is alot of oil residue, it may be hurt. Note that low oil, even for a small amount of time can kill a turbo quickly :dsm:

Ya, everything is connected when I installed the clutch and flywheel. Last time I checked the turbo wheel, it didnt feel loose or anything and this was when I was installing my clutch and flywheel. I think the oil is leaking from around the oil return line where it connects to the oil pan, because it is pretty oily around there. The CEL came on then the car died, I restarted car then it came on again, then i started it again and it went away. Today I was driving it again and when I went into full boost the RPM gauge went from 6k to 3k then went back to 6k. Also car mis fires over 6k
