Okay, this is long so bear with me. I just rebuilt my 7 bolt after a spun rod bearing. I get the long block back from the machine shop with timing already set. From start up it would idle rough. It would drive just fine but when you came to a stop it wanted to almost die. I tested for vacume leaks, bad/binding injectors, even had repair shops take a look at it. No one could figure it out. 3 weeks into the break in, around 1200 miles, the coolant line to the oil cooler blows. I instantly smell it and see the temp gauge climb. Luckily I was only going 30 mph and pulled over and shut it off. From that point it was towed back to the machine/repair shop. They had it for 3 weeks and could find nothing other than the idle problem and they couldn't figure it out either. So I go pick it up and 30 minutes down the road I start to hear what sounded as lifters clattering. I slow down and take it easy the rest of the way home and then the clatter got louder and then I couldn't get it to go over 3500 rpms at almost full throttle. I have since figured out the idle problem which was due to a bad MAF connection. I have localized the "knock" which is coming from the oil pump/ a/c area. It goes away sometimes at idle and when you give it some throttle it goes to a more muffled sound. I have tested fuel pressure(43 psi), compression test good, vacume is good, oil pressure is good(11 psi at idle and climbs with throttle), and all sensors read fine except upstream O2 which I think is because we didn't let it heat up. The best part is NO CODES!!! Not a one.

I have a theory, that maybe the knock sensor is picking up the knock(wich sounds more like something is loose) and retarding everything else which is keeping it from having any power. Just a hunch though. Any ideas would be greatful guys. I have to leave for school in a week and a half so I am desprate. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that everything is brand new except altenator, ps pump, starter, etc. The crank, rods, and sensors are all new. Even the oil pump and front plate.

You might have spun a balance shaft bearing. It's pretty common. If it ran without oil for too long you may have damaged the engine. Either way it sounds like you need to remove the timing belt and pull the front case/oil pump to start with, if that's where the sound is coming from.

Well, I had to put it in the shop again cause I don't have the time. I have to start school the 9th in Florida so I just went and bought something else to use as a DD and will keep my DSM as a toy. Thanks for the help though.
