One blinker doesn't work

On the driver's side, I get the rapid blink from the turn signal... yeah I know, the bulb is burnt out. But when I switch the bulbs up front, the drivers side bulb blinks fine on the other side.. so its not a faulty bulb.
I've heard about the flasher being bad, but is it possible that it would only effect one corner and the other 3 are fine?
I've checked the ground for the blinker, as I've heard that can be a problem... but no luck.
Where should I trace down the wire to figure out the problem? Or is there a way I could somehow "bypass" the stock wiring and wire it myself?

Did you look inside the bulb like I suggested, btw sorry for trying to help you.

Like I said, the bulb is not the problem. I can put that bulb on the other side and it works fine... or I use a brand new bulb and it still doesn't work.

Try bending the contacts inside the socket to make a solid connection with the bulb. I'm willing to bet if you pressed the bulb into the socket with the signal on that it would return to normal.

I used a test light and tested both the contact in the socket and also pierced the wire further up... niether gave me any signal.

If your not getting 12V (to ground) on any of the bulb socket contacts with turn signal on then you most likely have a bad flasher - and yes it can make just one side not work. Also check for 0 ohms resistance (multimeter) from the socket ground to chassis ground. Any resistance can make that happen. Make sure contacts/socket is clean - no corrosion/rust.

Thanks for the help.
Could the flasher just make the one corner not work? The rear signal on that side works fine, so I figured it was in the wiring somewhere.

On a 2g the flasher has separate relays for each corner inside the unit so it's possible. I don't think (but may be wrong) the 1g has that elaborate a flasher unit so each side should go on/off together. Usually however the symptom your describing is due to a faulty (or at least some resistance) ground on the socket or ground wire which will make only that corner act funny. So measure it and clean the socket contacts and where the ground wire attaches to the frame. Also wiggle that wire and socket while measuring.
