I have a 1992 eclipse, my car wont start and we have checked the battery, starter, clutch sensor and all of the fuses and it still wont start we dont know what to chack. please help. thanks

Check to make sure your getting fuel. When you turn the key on you should hear the fuel pump turn on.

ECU . Does anything work ? Lights , radio , .......Did it run before and now nothing ? Bad ground on starter ?

can you give a little more info on what happened? does it crank over at all? was it running before and if so did u notice anything before it stopped running

yea i have replaced the ECU with a spare. See what happened was i shut my car off then went to start it back up and it wouldn't start but luckily i was on a hill and i popped it into first and it started. it is acting like the battery is dead but we replaced it with a new one.

yea it ran fine then turned it off and was about to go out again and i wouldnt start

Since it runs, but only sometimes. I would check your grounds and all your wiring harnesses for cuts and kinks and any possible short circuits. I would say that you problem is definetly electrical since your car runs fine mechanically you said. Also is the battery properly tied down, when I got my first DSM it didnt have one and I was like screw it but then it proceded to make spot welds on my hood from contact, oh the good old days, LOL.

buy a battery terminal cleaning tool, clean off any corrosion to rule that possibility out, dunno just a thought.

On m,y truck one time I thought I had a bad starter, in the process of testing it I fried it... turns out it was the starter solenoid, so I had to replace both LOL, not yet sure how the starter works on dsm's

LOL at 123bobby.. weld spots on hood hehe. car bats make good arc welders with 4 gauge wire

So, we have figured it out! Now the starter was good but, the solenoid. Thnaks for all the help!
