i just got my dsmlink and i had a question about the MAF. if i could run my car with out the MAF or even with out an intake with just a filter on the turbo?
i know some friends have done it on there turbo hondas but they run aem ems

It won't rev past 2k and it will spit out black smoke. You can though. The MAF is the main sensor in a mass air system

If you swapped to a MAP system like in your buddies honda, you could do away with it.

to do this, you would need a GM MAF with a MAF translator to get rid of all the stuff in front of the turbo. the GM MAF would then be placed higher up near the throttle body. (also allows for a shorter routing of pipes out of a FMIC) but in doing this, you will have some problems with everything getting a bit dirty if you run without a filter at all. You will also run into a problem with the way the air enters the turbo. its only really worth it if you are planning on making some serious power. (mmmmm...power :D )

Part of this is correct...You can use the maf-t and not have a metering device on the turbo inlet. Although it does not shorten i/c pipes as the gm maf goes in place of the pipes you already have in place. WTF

so i was thinking about getting the GM MAF-T but i have the sbr shourt rout intercooler how would i and where would the GM MAF-T would go?
thanks for every ones help im kinda new at this

It doesn't automatically shorten it, it just rids the car of the big black box stock maf so you CAN make the pipes go straight up instead of through the fender. In doing this...a short route intake piping.
