MBC/BOV Prob

On my stock boost controller the car would spike to 16psi and now with my MBC it does the same thing. My bov sounds like it flutters. It's an HKS SSQV non adjustable. On my friends car that I took it off of, it had the high pitch whistle at 8-10psi. On mine it flutters weather its at 6psi or 20 psi. Do I have a boost leak?

HKS BOV's are known to do a fluttering noises.

Whats mods are in your car, is your car a 98 gsx?
I assume you have an aftermarket upper intercoler piping...

Try doing a boost leak and fix any boost leaks you may have.

Now my hks BOV (and most of them) are very sensitive to vacuum (the more vacuum the more efficient they become.
what I did to fix the flutering issue was giving it its own vacuum line.
Instead of T-ing the vacuum from the intake that we commonly use for the BOV and MBC, I welded a nipple of my aftermarket J-Pipe from the turbo air compressor outlet and leave that for the MBC (like from stock form) and left the upper vacuum line from the intake for the BOV only (like stock form).
Now if you have the stock T25 turbo you can use that nipple from the turbo to your MBC and leave the vacuum line of the intake for your BOV only.
Between that fix and no boost leaks you should get a better pressure releasing and better sounding BOV
