I have pressure tested my system and it holds pretty well, except a leak in the TB seals that I will fix. However....I hear a distinct hissing sound and it sounds like its comming from inside the intake manifold. I listened around with a hose to locate the elak but I cannot find any place I can hear it so clearly as when I put my ear on top of the intake manifold.

Any ideas on what this might be? I never heard that kinda sound before and I really just dont know where to start loking.

1G -91 Tsi AWD, still stock except K&N open air filter.

Spray everything down with soapy water and spray some on top of your BISS screw. What you may be hearing is air leaking from your TB Shaft seals.

If it sounds like the "hissing" is coming from inside the IM (the sound is muffled) then I would suggest that your EGR gasket is old and needs replacing.

I had a similar noise and It was impossible to figure out where it was coming from. It sounded like it was coming from the bottom and the driver side, but it ended up being the throttle body shaft seals. Fix the TB seals and see where your at.

Also check and see if the noise changes them the throttle plate is opened.

Checked agaian and its the seals for sure. Turning the plate makes a huge difference in sound so I need to order the seals. Any one knows where to get them quick and a place that are willing to send over here? Would appreciate it alot :)
Partnumbers or a link to a site with the info would be grateful, searched here but some says the stores is closed, item discontinued etc. Seals would be for a 1991 Tsi AWD stock TB.
Thanx for any help on this :-
