I have a 95 Talon tsi awd and have had a 6bolt bottom end with a 2g head for about a year, the valve stems were leaking so I replaced the head with a 1g head, intake manifold & TB, but kept the 2g coil pack. The car started once after the head swap and idled around 3k for 30 seconds. Now I can’t get it to catch, I have fuel I have spark and it really really wants to start but it never does. If it was an older car I would say it sounds like the timings off or something is up with the carb but in this case I just don’t know.

Did you change the order of your plugs wires at the coil pacl. I know that when you do the sway you have to swap some of the wire order.

yep swaped the pulgs, 1-4 & 3-2. it seams like a misfire, the engine just stumbles and stumbles without catching.

I was just going over the install in my head and all the wires that i hooked up last night and realized that I probably forgot to hook up the ground wire from the firewall to the intake manifold because I messed with the throttle cable a few times. I'm not gonna be able to check it out till later tomorrow because of the nice ice storm that just buried my house in lower PA. Could that ground wire cause problems with starting the car or is the engine grounded other places.

no I had this problem and the ground fixed it, I have a 6 bolt I just put in my 98, I'm fighting some other problems right now but that one ground is very important
