Hello all! Hoping to get a hand with this problem I've been having. First off, I am on my 2nd motor in my 91gst now. I blew the first due to a burnt or broken/cracked piston,(mechanic said I was running lean). Anyhow, old motor had 138k on it, new motor has 57k on it.(so i was told), reguardless, right before the motor blew I would smell a strong sweet smell of fuel. It did not do this until a few days before it went. With my new motor I have been having an issue with smelling a strong odor of fuel more like exhaust coming fro the engine bay on any type of throttle not just wot. I mean not if I am literaly just going very slow like from a start at a light in traffic. But just modestly getting up to highway speeds. At wot I sart to smell that sweet smell again. I don't know if it has any relevance to what my old motor went through but it worries me. I also have very poor gas mileage. Anyone have a clue as to what this could be? That's one of my big issues. I have many though. I will list briefly what's up and if anyone can respond on any that would be great.
poor idle still (throttle position sensor/switch,isc changed, cleaned throttle body)
when I disconnect the single wire from position switch the rpms don't raise and stay steady at all. don't raise 1 bit. they used to when i had my old engine.
flashing a/f light on apexi pen style turbo timer never got a reading yet
unknown boost leak coming from turbo area
since new engine my fans don't kick on by themselves I have to use the ac switch. I have checked all fuses and fan motors and also replaced thermo fan switch
I probobly have more issues but can't remember right now. I am sorry that this is so scatterbrained but it's late and just wanted to throw this out there. If anyone can/would help and needs me be clarify anything please hit me. thank alot guys.
