I was wondering if anyone has a definitive answer on where exactly this thing is. I have to replace it (cel code 1494) I have tried looking thru chiltons but they do not illustrate where exactly I need to be looking for this evap solenoid switch. Also has anyone replaced this yet and about how much do they cost. I have called and looked online but no-one seems to sell it.

If you have a FWD the evaporative emission ventilation solenoid (also called leak detection pump - LDP) is on a bracket just in front of the gas tank above rear cross member. Has 2 hoses on it. Keep in mind you can also get P1494 with leaking vacuum hoses (eg. vacuum supply hose from intake manifold to it) or bad electrical connector.
