2G no tach in a 2g

this is my first post guys so dont flame to much. Ive searched tach and broke tach, and i dint get anything, but what would cause my tach to just go out? it was working fine one second, then the next it was dead?

Make sure all the connectors for your gauges are pushed in. If you've recently taken the tach out, just push it in all the way. There are square boxes on the back, and if you don't make complete contact with them, the particular gauges don't work.

i havent had the gauge cluster out at all

did you check the fuse under the dash? if not check it

i checked all fuses under dash they were all good, i dont know what fuse is for the tach though, but they were all good any way. the tach works intermintently its weird

is it idling rough sometimes? if so, you may have a bad cam position sensor.

it idles good i just fixed that last week, but now the car seems so underpowered and revs very slow i hooked my dsm link up and i got a tach signil off that? weird

Keep in mind that the ECU uses the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors (or CAS) for the RPM signal but the tach uses the signal from the power transistor module (or tach sender on a 90).

thats good info ill have to test the power transistor. I also have a 6 bolt swap all i got it the cam position sensor
