I was coming back from racing yesterday and when i got off the expressway i see a white smoke starting to come out of my hood. the first thing i thought was that i blew a hose of something then my car just turns off. i tried to start it once and nothing so i got into a random parking lot and poped the hood. there was no coolant spilled but just oil all over the tranny. and it wasn't tranny oil it was engine oil. once i towed my car home i checked the oil lines from the turbo. nothing wrong with them i bought more oil and put it in and cleaned up the engine and tried to start it again. nothing. i have spark and fuel. but i still don't know where the leak is. the engine does turn just don't start. could i have leaked though the headgasket? cause i have no signs of oil anywere else. only all over the tranny and a little on the intake.

thanks for anyhelp you guys can give me

Did you check your oil level? Did you look at your oil pressure gauge? Any lifter ticking?

Jack your car up to see if you notice an oil leak, then check oil level and make sure there is enough and do a compression check. You might need a new motor if you ran with no oil, but usually there are telltale signs before you lose too much compression to run. Maybe your cam position sensor cam undone...not that it would cause white smoke. usually oil is blue when burning. How did it smell?

i heard the lifter ticking right before the car turned off i check the level before i went to race and it was normal and when it turned off it was empty. i didn't run a compression test i don't really know how to . where is the cam positioning sensor at. it smelled like oil but it wasnt blue it was white

don't see any cam positioning sensor on my head. the red circle is were most of the oil was located on the trannyl

your cps is right on your intake cam gear ...
could oil have come out thu the crank vent?? i say do a leak down test !

2G's do not have a CAS(cam angle sensor) they actually have a CAS(crank angle sensor) located under the valve cover. White smoke from under the hood and now it won't start? If you were full of oil before racing then had NONE when you stopped, it had to go somewhere. Exactly how much was in that area? Was there a TON or just a little?

I am really not familiar with 2G's, but I would be looking to see if there was some type of electrical fire under the hood that caused the white smoke. Oil should burn blue, not white. Also, if you nuked a couple wires to a required sensor, then the car would not start at all.

Good luck with this one....

there was none after this i don't see any burned wires at all but i did a test and my headgasket is gone could oil have gone out threw there

if the head was lifted up off the block it could, thats what mine just did a few days ago, although mines a galant, the theory is the same.
it lifted the front of the head and spat oil and coolant out, making alot of white smoke out the exhaust and the hood.
