Hello all, recently I've been having problems with a camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction, and I've figured out that the black plastic sensor portion wiggles a bit and that messes up idle and start up, the pins in the connector must be loose or something. Is there a good way to remedy it other than possibly hardwiring the wires? Bend the prongs a little? Some sort of contact gel?Any ideas would be great.

take 20 mins go to junk yard and pull off a used one! see how much they want if its out rages which i am sure they want atleast 70 bucks ! do what you must but if you had a broken leg would you want jb weld! haah jk but think about it! just go by the junk yard and take the part with you so you can match it up good luck and happy new year!

Know of any junkyards around the bay that have any gst's? I guess I'll call around and see.

you can alawys call around and they most of the time will ship you the part you need good luck and always check dealership its always good to buy sensors new but if you cant afford it its cool get a used one it will do the job! good luck

Updated the post, I was able to track down the real culprit to the bad connection. And thanks for the link man, I never even realized that they were up here in Northern California. I may have to take a trip up there tomorrow just for fun and to get some other misc parts I've been looking for.

Does the CAS plug still have the metal ring clip around it?? Is the black plastic broken at all?? If the plastic is broken, the easiest thing to do is find that exact plug from a junkyard car, or go to the website i posted in my previous post and get the same plug and replace the old plug with the new one. Yes you will have to do some soldering and such but its best to do it right the first time instead of trying to "figure" out some other way to make the broken plug work.

Plastic isn't broken at all, its just that there is some play when the plug is connected, I'll try and check out getting a new plug tomorrow. There also isn't a ring clip, but it may be different since mine is a 97? Its just a clip in plastic sorta deal.

bleh, forgot what the 2g CAS plug looked like my bad, just use to looking at 1g Cam Angle Sensor's all the time...

If the plug is loose enough to where the metal contacts are not making contact anymore, i would try and find a new plug somewhere and go with that.

The problem ended up being the cam position sensor, I replaced the pigtail and that didn't help, finally the sensor did the trick.
