I have a 99 gs-t spyder. As far as I know everything is ok with the car. I recently put on a front mount intercooler on the car. all of the couplers are tight and there is no boost leak. This is how the car is acting after I installed the fmic. First gear is fine. Second gear is ok at half throttle. Full throttle in second gear between 4500 and 6000 rpms the car does a violent jerk and when I let off the gas is quits. Third gear it does it at around the same rpms only at full throttle. fourth and fifth are ok as far as I kno due to the fact I havent takin it up that high in the rpms in thoes gears. I have know idea what is causing this and I need help. ONLY AT FULL THROTTLE.

with that extra dense air being forced into your engine, running high psi (dont know what your running?) on stock fuel could cause a fuel cut at higher rpms. could be your problem

i see you have a greddy RS, it it recirculated? if not do you have adequate MAS mods to support venting.

also, I see that you have a megan racing off road pipe?

stock turbo doesnt mean anything in your situation, do you have a good boost guage? just like loewen said. you are boosting too high for stock fuel, and hitting fuel cut.

your error code means "your boosting beyond stock levels"

ditch that stock bcs, get a good manual boost controller, and upgrade your fuel.

if your problem was the acuator iself, you wouldnt have any motor to worry about.

No it is not recirculating and no i dont have the mas mods. but I had the venting bov before all of this happened and i wasnt experiencing any of the source problems that other members were having with venting to the atmoshere. but you guys know more than me at this point. I am planning on getting the supporting mods soon. just a little money tight. As for the stock levels of boost. how could the boost pressure be higher than stock? an intercooler incresses boost?????   I did not know that. as for the gauges and mbc. I am ordering a dejon mbc dual stage A and the gauges I am getting are from a company called glowshift. three gauges and a pod for 108 bucks doesnt sound bad at all. They seem to be reliable too. and as for the iff road pipe. I am running it with an o2 sim.

we are speculating higher boost levels based on the select mods you have, you should NEVER start modding until you have a good boost guage,

you NEED to know what is happening.

moving along, your pipe, is it just a cat deleting replacement pipe or a full system?

if you have freed up enough exhust, your turbo will creep.

Try to stick to his origional question. I can tell you from all kinds of shit that it sounds like spark plugs or wires to me (more likely plugs). My car did the exact same thing and it ESturned out to be something simple. I would defenetly go get a new set of BRP7ES's if your running enough boost or if your closer to stock BPR6ES's.

...............? ok, anyways,

creep is when your boost CREEPS past your desired level, IF you opend up your exhaust considerably. your chances for creep are HIGH.

I never really knew sparkplugs would throw wastegate actuator CEL codes...... TRY and stick to the question.

Id almost bet its boost creep, causing fuel cut,
check at the Upgrade path, on the main page and see how closley you followed the recommended path.

YOU must go get a boost guage RIGHT NOW, or take it easy til your guages arrive, Then just run a line in the window and hook up that gauge real fast and see what boost you are hitting.

espicially with that FMIC

im not trying to steal your thread but im sorta having the same problem with my 98 eclipse gsx, the only upgrade i have is a type-s bov and whenever the stock boost gauge reaches close to the highest marking the car starts to somewhat jerk, and even when i do floor it the power comes on for a quick second then jerks or buckles then continues, my engine light is on so i checked the computer and the wastegate actuator along with the Air Fuel trim bank 1 comes up, any thoughts? im thinking its Fuel Cut for having too much pressure(boost) but all i have is a BOV, and the BOV seems to be doing fine, any thoughts?

well, with that FMIC, your air is denser, and you could definatly be cutting on topend.

do you have a logger?

Weaponx, im sure you are on the right track, is your greddy recirculated?

and blackpants, recirculate that bov, even if you dont notice any ill effects, its still not a good idea without proper preperation

yeah my BOV is recirculated, but i just bought this car and dont know how turboed cars act when you do certain things and so i really dont know if turbo'd cars are supposed to jerk or shake once the tach on the stock boost gauge gets close to its highest point, or after shifting up and the power does come on for a second then jerk again on the same gear???

ya guys, the stock boost gauge is completely useless. I can be running 20psi on my gauge and the stock will read 7! HAVE to get an aftermarket gauge

i messed around with the screw on the MAF and it stoped doin it, come to find out the guy that i bought the car from turned the screw all the way out, so i screwed it in some, what do yall think? is this a good idea or better yet safe? i figured that since my car was hitting fuel cut due to it running lean that i turn in the screw some so i can get more fuel...i was allso planning on cutting the extra tubing on the recirculating tube but it was allready cut, so things started to make sense when i found out about the tube and the screw...more air from the tube cut and more air from the screw being all the way out meant to me that it really wasnt getting enough fuel for the amount of air coming in, i never knew how responsive these motors were to such little details...oh yeah the clamp on the recirculating tube from the BOV was allso somewhat loose...hopefully the fuel trim bank 1 malfunction signal will dissapear once i reset the ECU..

Its a boost leak, I just had the same problem. I change the plugs and wires after reading this post and checked all the hoses and found a big hole in one of the hoses connected to my greddy boast controller. The hose was rubbing against my fan and the fan cut a hole in it.
