Greetings and happy holidays to all....Quick question... If I run my 1990 gst with plugged (not bypassed) oil cooler fittings will that hurt my engine  I'm unfamiliar with the oil path from the engine to the cooler and back... If the lines are plugged (the ones right there at the oil filter where the banjos bolt on at) and the oil cooler with it's lines are taken off will it hurt my block? Any help is greatly appreciated..:thumb:

All of the oil in your engine goes through that cooler. If you plug it, you'll block off the flow of oil and kill your engine from oil starvation. If you bypass it, your oil will have a shorter life because the excess heat being retained will cause it to break down faster than normal.

Is there any particular reason why you want to block/bypass the external oil cooler?

Yes... It busted due to wear and tear and I don't have time to locate another one right away so I guess I'll bypass it then...Thanks for the info...:thumb:
