Well last night I popped my hood cause i thought I heard a tapping sound and wanted to take a look. What I got a look at was a light show. It was crazy. At different points along the wires i could see actual flashes in the wires and in some places I could actually see them arcing on the motorOMG . They are stock wires and only about 600 miles old. Could I have damaged anything by driving like this. Are there any wires that i can go buy over the counter besides stock ones cause i dont want this to happen again. I'm gonna try to get my buddy's camera to get a video of it happening.

The original equipment wires for these cars are generally pretty good.

Did you do the plugs at the same time?

Bad plugs/huge plug gaps will raise the secondary resistance to the point that the spark will take the easy way out and arc to ground along the wire.

Ive had parts on the wires actually get holes so the wires were exposed. I couldn't really tell unless it was nighttime; but I could actually see the sparks. I would reccomend buying some high performance wires. The rubber on the wires can get dry over time and crack.

yeah i did the plugs and wires at the same time. But about 2 weeks ago i was running pretty lean for a while cause of a hacked maf that a friend let me borrow and didnt tell me it was hacked. Should i have changed my plugs after that. also i had a problem with a cracked vc, and oil used to get up in that area. I guess the simple anser would be new plugs, upgrade wire, correct? It was just weird cause in one place the glowing looked like it wasnt to metal, but between the wires themselves. it was kinda cool lookin, but at the same time really didnt look to healthy.
