Ok I had a new motor put in my car about 1000 miles ago 6 bolt with 2g head 8.5:1 wiseco pistons and 1g rods. I have had this horrible oil leak ever since the swap was done, it leaves a couple drip spots near the back of the motor on the ground, Last night i re-sealed my oil pan perfectly and let the rtv cure overnight. I went out for a test drive about 30 minutes ago and once again oil drips when i park. When i did the pan i cleaned up ALL the oil that was under the car, it was quite a bit, on top of the little tunnel for the steering rack there was a bunch of oil, i cleaned all that off with brake cleaner, and after my 15 minute drive its covered in oil again. Where could this be coming from?!?! As far as im aware there isnt anything on the back of the block that oil could come from. Is there anything back there? The car runs perfectly fine, im just tired of leaving my mark everywhere I go.

There is a bolt on the back of the motor, in a hole used to acess the balance shaft, that if missing will spew oil while running. Make sure that is there.

Are you positive it's engine oil and not powersteering fluid?

Oh you sir are a genious. Thank you, i checked on my old 7bolt block in the garage and found the hole u were talking about, it still had the bolt in it. I lifted my car back up to check my 6 bolt, no bolt, just a hole, so i swapped the bolt over to my new motor and im cleaning it up now to take it for another drive to check for any more oil.

you know i just fixed a crack in my oil pan that i thought was causing my large oil leak, but my motor is also recently rebuilt with the balance shafts removed and has been leaking oil from the back of the block now for close to 8 months, and i have finally narrowed it down to somewhere near the back of the block, i should look for this plug, can someone tell me where on the back of the block this should be??
