Throttle cable stuck

soo i was driving and when i let go of the accellator pedal the pedal the throttle cable was stuck inside the car and the engine just kept going and the car kept moving faster and faster. So i tried to jiggle with the pedal but it was completely stuck soo i coasted the car and turned the engine off and slowed down to the side of the road.

Anyone know how much dsm throttle cables are and the unit as well that does all the spring action?

please tell me what to do i believe i need a new throttle cable and i just bought this car i'm pretty bummed.

Clean your TB, the build up could be forcing the Throttle plate open. Also, You can adjust the tension on your TB cable by losing the two screws and sliding the TB cable bracket TOWARDS the TB. I'll see if I can find a picture.

thanks turns out the trottle cable was touching some wires that my friend put in for my sub.... and i guess it grounded and the wire melted into the throttle cable so i took out the cable and i need a new one. does anyone know where i can get cheap eagle talon/eclipse cables? like i can call the dealer but they charge alot for one cable

You completely remove the spring box and the cruise control module. Hence the cleaning up of the engine bay and the faster throttle response.

The non-CC cables goes from the TB along the intake manifold and right into the firewall. Then connects to the pedal under the dash.

Defently cleans up the bay, and I had a similar problem that is now gone.
